Course Description
This course will examine the development of Russian cinema after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Special emphasis will be placed on Russia's attempts to define a new post-communist identity for itself - a problem that has been at the heart of cultural debates since the late 1980s.
Grading Policy
Active in-class participation, three 6-page papers.
