Course Description
This course examines Czechoslovak film and literature against the backdrop of key historical, political, and cultural events. Film screenings will include films covering World War II, the Stalinist Fifties, the thaw of the Sixties, the post-Soviet invasion years, and the post-1989 Velvet Revolution. Most of the films viewed are based on novels, which will be read in their interity.
