CNN documentary series, Cold War, Episode "The Soldiers of God"

This 1998 series, narrated by Kenneth Branagh, is a comprehensive history that examines the key events of the arc of the Soviet Union.  This week’s episode, ‘The Soldiers of God’ describes the Soviet-Afghan war as told from American, Russian, and Afghan perspectives.  It also describes the US’s role in arming the Afghan Mujahideen, and was considered controversial following the events of 9/11.
