7th Annual Russian Documentary Showcase in TX

CREEES is continuing its collaboration with the Russian Cultural Center "Our Texas" to bring you the 7th Russian Documentary Showcase film.  We will be visited by film director Andrey Gryazev,  who will provide insight into his film and answer questions after the screening.

The film "Tomorrow" is about the most striking occurrence in contemporary art in Russia, the art-group Voina (War). Their founders — Vor (Thief) and Koza (Goat) live underground, raise their one-year old son Kasper and carry out art actions on the fine edge between art and criminal code. Their courageous political statements leave nobody indifferent (and disturb absolutely everybody). They live in the present, hoping that tomorrow they can change everything.

Film director Andrey Gryazev is former ice-figure skater. He worked as head cameraman and head editor at the famous Moscow’s Taganka theatre. Mr. Gryazev earned a diploma in documentary from Higher Courses for Script writers and Directors in 2008.  His first feature length documentary film “Sanya and Sparrow” has received awards at many international festivals.
