The Witness/A Tanú (1969, Hungary): A satire on the Stalinist era, banned by the Hungarian authorities for almost a decade, The Witness stands up as more than a curiosity piece from another era. It's still remarkably fresh, and continues to have much to tell us on the subject of authoritarian bureaucracy. A classic "cult" film in Hungary. Comedy/drama. 105 min.
All films are free and open to the public. Screenings are at 7pm in GRG 102 (Geography Building, corner of 24th and Whitis). Films have English subtitles.
