Prof. Kivelson is the author of Autocracy in the Provinces: The Muscovite Gentry and Political Culture in the Seventeenth-Century; the editor of Orthodox Russia: Belief and Practice Under the Tsars, and has written numerous articles on witchcraft in Muscovy. She has most recently completed Cartographies of Tsardom: Maps and Political-Geographic Imagination in Seventeenth-Century Russia.
