Czech Program
The undergraduate program in the Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies offers coursework and a B.A. degree program in Czech Language and Culture.
Coursework
The following language courses are regularly offered:
- First year: 506-507 Beginning Czech
- Second year: 312K-312L Intermediate Czech
- Third year: 325-326 Advanced Czech
Other courses in Czech literature and other aspects of culture are offered on a rotating basis. UT also offers various upper-division electives in language, literature, culture, history, and the politics of Eastern Europe. Students are also encouraged to take survey courses in Czech literature and culture with readings in English to give them a broad background. It is also possible to enroll (with the permission of the instructor) in individual-instruction conference courses: CZ 379 (for undergraduates) and CZ 395 (for graduate students).

Texas Chair in Czech Studies
The Texas Chair in Czech Studies was established by the generosity of the Czech community of Texas through its Czech Education Foundation of Texas.
This endowment supports undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Czech language, literature, and culture, as well as study and research opportunities in the Czech Republic. It regularly brings distinguished scholars and diplomats to Austin, as well as supporting a variety of educational and cultural activities and events involving both the University and local communities.
