The mission of the Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas is to further excellence in its various disciplines. In the context of the Department this means:
- To provide quality instruction to undergraduate students enrolled in our language and literature programs and our interdisciplinary area study course offerings;
- To encourage undergraduate and graduate students to gain study abroad experience;
- To advance knowledge in our fields of research in Slavic and Eurasian languages, literatures, cultures, area studies, and linguistics; and
- To prepare graduate students for careers in both the public and private sector.

Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies Welcomes New Faculty Member
Tatiana Kuzmic will teach courses in Serbo-Croatian and Balkan Studies
Tatiana Kuzmic is the new Assistant Professor of Slavic and Balkan Studies in the Department of Slvaic and Eurasian Studies. Kuzmic comes to Austin from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received her doctoral degree in May 2008.
