Giving to Sociology
Why Giving Matters
The Department of Sociology is one of the largest and most highly ranked sociology departments in the country. Our outstanding group of 42 tenured or tenure-track faculty members allows us to offer an excellent range of opportunities - both inside and outside the classroom - for undergraduate and graduate students. The 2013 US News and World Report Guide to Graduate Departments ranked our program 7th among public universities, and tied for 14th among all universities.
This achievement has been possible only through the combined efforts of faculty, students, alumni, and friends of the department. The strength of our department depends directly on recruiting world-class students and faculty, and affording them the opportunities to further develop and present their research in a variety of national and international conferences and settings. Our alumni and friends play a key role in furnishing us with support that state funding cannot otherwise provide.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss with you and seek your guidance in assisting the department, and thank you sincerely for your support.
