Course Description
This course provides an introduction to the central issues of the classical theories of sociology and places them in historical context. Its goal is to provide an overview of the major traditions, and to draw out their current-day appliations. Readings and lectures will focus on the contributions of Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Sigmund Freud, and W.E.B. Du Bois.
