Course Description
This course is meant to provide a practical guide for students specializing in demography. In addition to introducing students to the resources available at the Population Research Center (PRC), this course will offer information on funding opportunities available to graduate students, as well as tips on how to give effective presentations at academic conferences, submitting articles to academic journals, writing a dissertation (and dissertation proposal), and applying for academic jobs. In the last hour of the course we are joined by colleagues throughout the university for a brownbag talk on topics related to population research.
