SOC 317L • Introduction to Social Statistics (46430 and 46640)

Course Description

This class introduces the basic concepts and procedures of statistics. I focus on statistics that will be most useful for student's lives - even if they don't go on to be academics. I use intuitive examples from everyday life to make statistics understandable and humor to make class fun. I want to train students to be critical consumers of the information they read/hear in the media and in there classes. I want to train students to think in a way that is statistically justifiable.
