SOC 318 • Juvenile Delinquency

Course Description

This course introduces a range of theories about both the causes of juvenile delinquency and the origins of criminal definitions. Particular attention is paid to the environments in which delinquency develops, the influence of delinquent subcultures and peer groups, and societal reactions to delinquency in schools, courts, and other agencies.
