Biography
Professor Mark Warr received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. He is a criminologist known primarily for his research on peer influence and social reactions to crime.
He has served on numerous federal commissions and panels for such agencies as the National Science Foundation, National Academy of Sciences, National Institute of Justice, and the American Statistical Association, and he is a recipient of the President's Associates Teaching Excellence Award.
His book Companions in Crime (Cambridge University Press, 2002) received the 2005 Michael J. Hindelang Award from the American Society of Criminology for "the most outstanding contribution to research in the field of Criminology." He was named a Fellow of the American Society of Criminology in 2012.
