Research: Ben Carrington has written widely within cultural sociology, the sociology of popular culture and the sociology of race. His research interests include the application of post/colonial theory to the sociology of race, the politics of race and sport within the black diaspora, masculinity and national identity formation, and the nature of cultural resistance within the arena of popular culture. Ben Carrington is Associate Director of the Center for European Studies and is also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Carnegie Faculty of Sport and Education, at Leeds Metropolitan University, England.
