Assistant or Early Associate Professor in Law or Criminology

The Department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a position as an assistant professor or early associate professor with principle interests in sociology of law or criminology/criminal justice/delinquency. Candidates should present evidence of teaching and research publication excellence or potential for the same. Starting date: Fall 2009. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, publication, and service. The potential for securing external research funding will also be considered. Priority will be given to applications completed by September 30, 2008. A Ph.D. in hand by start date is required. Assistant or Early Associate Professor in Religion

The Department of Sociology at University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a position at the assistant or early associate level with a starting date of Fall 2009. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship in the sociology of religion. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research links the study of religion with other prominent social institutions and phenomena, including political institutions, social movements, family, health, youth and adolescence, and other important areas of study in the discipline. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, publication, and service. Priority will be given to applications completed by September 30, 2008. Associate or Full Professor in Population Health and Biodemography

The Department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenured position (associate or full professor) starting in Fall 2009. The position will also include an affiliation with the Population Research Center and is part of the University's long-term commitment to enhance the population sciences. We are looking for applicants whose research and teaching interests are in the area of demography with a specialization in population health and biodemography. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, publication, and service. Successful candidates should have a strong record of publication, external funding, and teaching, appropriate to rank. Screening will begin October 1 and continue until the position is filled.
