All paper applications and materials (including recommendation letters) sent to GIAC or the Sociology Department will be unread and disposed of. To see what materials MUST be submitted, as well as further requirements, please refer to the Instructions and FAQ.
The deadline for fall 2015 admission is DECEMBER 1, 2014. Late and/or incomplete applications, including recommendation letters, will not be considered. Mailed, faxed, emailed, or hand-delivered applications and materials will not be considered. There is a lag in processing time due to the heavy processing load at GIAC. Applicants with questions about submitting transcripts, uploading documents, test scores, letters of recommendation, or residency, must contact the appropriate email address below -

If an applicant did not list their recommenders on the application, they must email email@example.com their name, UT EID, and the name and email of their recommenders. Requests are processed in the order received. GIAC will notify the applicant when they send the initial request. After they send the initial request, the applicant will be able to see its status at: utdirect.utexas.edu/nr/appstat.html.
For change-of-major applicants (applicants already admitted to the UT Austin Graduate School) ONLY: Please follow the instructions here, and send the supporting documents to the graduate program administrator Evelyn Porter at firstname.lastname@example.org. The December 1 deadline and supporting document requirements still apply.
