Katherine M. Hill is a doctoral student in the Department ofSociology at the University of Texas at Ausin. Katherine Hill is interested in how racial-ethnic and gender stratification shape labor markets, intimate markets, and immigration, particularly for Asian Americans and Asian immigrants.
Katherine's current thesis research examines race and gender shapes the lives of workers in Chinese restaurants in Austin.
Prior to coming to UT, Katherine recieved her B.A. in Sociology at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR. Katherine has interned for the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, and taught English in South Korea, as a Fulbright Fellowship grantee. Katherine has also worked at the Women's Shelter of Central Arkansas.
