Professor Robert Hummer Chosen to Serve on U.S. Census Committee

Professor Robert Hummer was recently invited by U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves to serve a three-year term on the Census’s Scientific Advisory Committee (CSAC). Professor Hummer has accepted the invitation and begins serving in August of 2011. The CSAC provides technical advice on the full range of Census Bureau programs, with the goal being to identify more sustainable and cost effective methods for the Census Bureau to use in data collection, processing, and dissemination as a world-class statistical agency. The CSAC is comprised of 20 members and a Chairperson and meets 2-3 times per year at the Census Bureau’s Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland.
