Professor Mark Hayward Named to Prestigious Panel

Dr. Mark Hayward, Director of the Population Research Center, has been named to the National Advisory Committee of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars program. Dr. Hayward is joined by two other new members, Mark A. Nichter from the University of Arizona and Amelie G. Ramirez from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Their tenure began on July 1, 2011. Drs. Hayward, Nichter and Ramirez will take part in the application review and selection of finalists for the Program’s 10th cohort this fall. Dr. Hayward is also the current President of the Southern Demographic Association and the newly elected chair of ASA's section on Aging and the Life Course.
