Sociology Students Named Distinguished Graduates of 2012

Sociology undergraduate students Stephanie Greeson and Jean Nava have been selected as Distinguished Graduates of 2012. Stephanie and Jean are Distinguished Graduates in Sociology, and Jean is also one of twelve Dean's Distinguished Graduates in Liberal Arts.
Stephanie, a sociology major, has held leadership positions with Alpha Kappa Delta, the Sociological Insight undergraduate research journal, and Sociology in Action. Over the past year Stephanie wrote a sociology honors thesis on mental illness and criminology. After she graduates from The University of Texas, Stephanie will attend Emory University to pursue her PhD in sociology.
Jean is triple-majoring in sociology, economics, and statistics. In the fall, he completed his honors thesis in which he explored emigration's impact on population structure in Mexico. He is also in the process of graduate school selection as a McNair Scholar.
