Article on Health Insurance Coverage Among Older Women Receives Charles E. Gibbs Leadership Prize

Dr. Jacqueline Angel, Dr. Jennifer Karas-Montez and Dr. Ronald Angel's article "A Window of Vulnerability: Health Insurance Coverage Among Women 55 to 64 Years of Age" is awarded the Charles E. Gibbs Leadership Prize for best paper published in Women's Health Issues in 2011.
In addition, graduate student Kate Prickett and Dr. Jacqueline Angel's article "The New Health Care Law: How Will Women Near Retirement Fare?" has been selected for Honorable Mention for the Gibbs Prize.
The Charles E. Gibbs Leadership Prize is awarded annually to recognize excellence in research on women's health care or policy. Priority is given to manuscripts that report the results of original research and that improve understanding of an important women's health issue. The prize includes a $1,000 award. The Editorial Board of Women's Health Issues noted in particular the scholarly rigor of these works and the important contribution they make to significant and topical women’s health issues.
