SPN 345L • Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics

The purpose is to introduce students to the way the Spanish language is structured, and to the various subfields of linguistic analysis, such as morphology, syntax and semantics.
Thus, students will be required to analyze the linguistic structure of sounds, words and phrases. We then will study Spanish from an interdisciplinary point of view: the fields of sociolinguistics and historical linguistics.
1. Research Project: 20% 2. Quizzes and Homework: 10% 3. Tests 1 & 2: 40% (20% each) 4. Final Exam: 30%
