Course Description
The goal of this course is for students to develop a knowledge of basic linguistic concepts and principles as applied to teaching Spanish. The course presents an overview of the morphological, syntactic, and semantic systems of Spanish with a focus on areas of greatest difficulty for English speakers. In addition, students will explore a variety of sociolinguistic aspects of language learning, characteristics of the heritage speaker, and foreign language teaching methodologies.
