Course Description
This course provides guidance and instruction for graduate students who plan to enter the professional job market in Spanish & Portuguese. Topics range from the constitution of a CV to preparation for the interview process at the MLA convention. The course is organized and presided by the graduate advisor, but typically classes include presentations by members of the departmental graduate faculty who explain specific aspects of professional preparation, share their experiences and expectations from the perspective of their particular specialization, and respond to questions from students. The semester will conclude with mock MLA interviews conducted by panels of departmental graduate faculty.
Grading Policy
This course meets one lecture hour a week and is offered on a credit/no credit basis only.
