Course Description
This course focuses on the analysis of (1) the morpho-syntactic representation of tense and aspect, (2) the development of inflectional morphology among first and second language learners, (3) the sequence and rate of development of aspectual contrasts, (4) the potential effect of natural and academic learning settings on the development of tense-aspect systems, and (5) the potential impact of pedagogical manipulations on the development of tense-aspect markers. The objective of the course is to develop a theoretical model of the acquisition and representation of tense-aspect knowledge among L2 Spanish speakers.
