Course Description
In this course, students develop proficiency in writing, increase grammatical accuracy, and strenghten reading skills. The more difficult aspects of Spanish grammar for English speakers are emphasized. Readings from literary, cultural, and news sources provide the basis for grammar and vocabulary activities and the topics for compositions. Students become better writers through a process-oriented approach.
Students are expected to prepare the assigned material, attend class regularly, and participate actively. All class activities, readings, and assignments are in Spanish.
Grading Policy
Class Participation/Homework/Quizzes 20% Compositions 35% Tests 25% Final Exam 20%.

Repase y escriba by M.C. Dominicis and J. Reynolds. John Wiley and Sons Publishers. Additional readings will be supplied by the instructor. Recommended: A good Spanish-English dictionary.
