Course Description

This course has been developed to enhance future Spanish educators’ knowledge of basic linguistic principles of the Spanish language and how these principles can be applied to different aspects of second language or bilingual instruction. It consists of three parts: Spanish language acquisition; Spanish grammar; and sociolinguistics, technology and evaluation. As such, the course will focus on first and second language acquisition, foreign language teaching methodology, socio-cultural variables, an overview of Spanish morphology and grammar, and an understanding of problems encountered by English-speakers learning Spanish.
