Course Description

PART ONE Topics: a. Historical background and Basic theories; b. Translation practice with a focus on meaning PART TWO Topics: a. More Basic theory and evaluation of translations; b. Translation practice with focus on grammar PART THREE Topics: a. Contributions of translation to discourse analysis; b. Translation practice with focus on discourse.

Grading Policy

Three essays, 20% each; three exams, 10% each deduction each; class presentations, exercises, and attendance, 10% Unexcused absences will cause a point reduction of 1% and unexcused tardies 0.5%.
