Course Description
This course aims to acquaint the student with some of the most important works of the 16th and 17th centuries prose, drama, and poetry. Emphasis will be on the literary aspect, but other facets (political, social, philosophical, etc.) will be brought into consideration. The relationship of the works studied in class with those of previous and later eras, in the context of both content and form, will be likewise examined.
Grading Policy
2 hour exams: 30% Class participation: 20% Final Examination: 50%
