Course Description
This course represents an introduction to the fields of Spanish Discourse Analysis and Pragmatics. Students will explore various issues in Spanish pragmatics and discourse analysis, including recent speech act studies, discourse grammar, applications to second language acquisition, implicatures, narrative study, discourse semantics, and other areas. A special focus will be placed on current qualitative research, as well as on research design.

Texts
Readings will be based on a packet made by the instructor. A background text will also be required.
