Course Description
This course is fast paced and designed to build fluency in both spoken and written language in health care situations. Oral proficiency is the primary goal of this course. The student is expected to be in the College of Natural Sciences / Pre-Medicine / Pharmacy or to have a major interest in a career in health professions. The course emphasizes grammar, professional oral expression, listening, comprehension and writing skills. Through vocabulary building strategies, students work on improving self-expression, gradually mastering communication skills that are rudimentary and increasingly mandatory in health care professionals in the United States. Topics discussed are varied and prepare the student for work in a hospital/clinic.
