SPN 325L • Introduction to Spanish American Literature Since Modernism

Course Description

This course is a panoramic view of the most important literary authors from Spanish American Modernismo (1880) to contemporary literatures. We will emphasize themes such as: national discourses, the representation of the "others" (indigenous and afro-descendants, women) and politics of identity (race, gender and sexuality).

4 examinations: 60% Participation in Class: 20% Writing tasks: 20%
