Lecture by Prof. Licia Valladares
Licia Valladares is an Emeritus professor at the University of Lille 1, France, and an associate researcher at IESP- UERJ in Brazil. In 1978 she published Passa-se uma casa on the policy of favela removal from Rio de Janeiro’s valuable real estate. Since then she has published prolifically on many aspects of favela communities, including residents’ associations; child labour; popular housing; and favela imaginaries and representations.
