Diego Galeano has a PhD from the Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro. He currently teaches Sociology at the Universidad Nacional de la Plata and he is a researcher at the Universidad San Andrés in Argentina. He has published several articles in collected volumes and journals in Argentina, Brazil, France, and the US, about the history of crime and the police in Latin America Latina. He is the author of "Escritores, detectives y archivistas. La cultura policial en Buenos Aires, 1821-1910″ (Biblioteca Nacional, 2009). With Gregorio Kaminsky, he co-edited a volume called “Mirada (de) uniforme. Historia y crítica de la razón policial” (Teseo, 2011). He also edited and wrote the introduction to the book on "Benigno B. Lugones. Crónicas, folletines y otros escritos (1879-1884)” (Los Raros, 2012).
