1. GIAC application. Electronic applications are preferred using the above web site, however, you can request a paper application from the same website or phone number listed above.
2. Two official transcripts of all college/university work
3. One official copy of GRE scores
4. TOEFL (Required for international students only).
5. Application fee (non-refundable).

1. Application to the Spanish & Portuguese Department (PDF 103K) (also known as the "Financial Aid Application") available as a PDF download from our website.
2. Statement of Purpose: Tell us why you are interested in our particular program, explain your intellectual goals and interests and how you believe our program will help you fulfill them
3. Three letters of recommendation. (If you have teaching experience, one letter may be from a person who has supervised your teaching).
4. A copy of college/university transcripts (official transcripts are sent to GIAC).
5. A copy of GRE scores (official scores are sent to GIAC).
6. A copy of TOEFL or IELTS scores if you do not have a Bachelor’s Degree from an English-speaking university.
7. A Writing Sample, usually a term paper or essay, preferably in Spanish.

Once your application materials are received you may be interviewed in person or by phone.
