- GIAC application. Electronic applications are preferred using the above web site, however, you can request a paper application from the same website or phone number listed above.
- Two official transcripts of all college/university work
- One official copy of GRE scores
- TOEFL (Required for international students only).
- Application fee (non-refundable).

- Application to the Spanish & Portuguese Department (PDF 103K) (also known as the "Financial Aid Application") available as a PDF download from our website.
- Statement of Purpose: Tell us why you are interested in our particular program, explain your intellectual goals and interests and how you believe our program will help you fulfill them
- Three letters of recommendation. (If you have teaching experience, one letter may be from a person who has supervised your teaching).
- A copy of college/university transcripts (official transcripts are sent to GIAC).
- A copy of GRE scores (official scores are sent to GIAC).
- A copy of TOEFL or IELTS scores if you do not have a Bachelor’s Degree from an English-speaking university.
- A Writing Sample, usually a term paper or essay, preferably in Spanish.
Once your application materials are received you may be interviewed in person or by phone.
