LEARNING MATERIALS FOR THE 21st CENTURY

The Media Center was created by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese with two purposes in mind:

1. To develop and manage technology innovation for the specific needs of the department, which contains one of the largest language programs in the United States.
2. To create original, pedagogically-sound content for the inductive-learning based language program.

In partnership with Liberal Arts ITS (LAITS), the Media Center for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese will fulfill its purpose by initiating and nurturing relationships with the TLTC (Texas Language Technology Center), DIIA (Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment), the College of Communications at the University of Texas, specifically the Radio, Television, and Film Department, as well as the greater Austin community, which is a culturally and artistically rich locale if ever there was one.
