Professor Domínguez-Ruvalcaba Awarded College Research Fellowship

Professor Héctor Domínguez-Ruvalcaba has received a College Research Fellowship from the UT College of Liberal Arts Dean's Office for the academic year 2012-13 in support of his research project on “The Poetics of the Young Victim: Hip-Hop Performance and Violence in Mexico.” His book will examine the political implications of hip-hop culture in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana and Ciudad Juárez, even as it explores its aesthetics as a conjunction of oral poetry, visual art, corporeal practice, and cultural rhapsody.
