Huang Chunming (黃春明) is well-known fiction writer from Taiwan, commonly regarded as a leading figure of the Nativist literary movement in the 1970s.  His short stories have been translated into several western languages, and turned into films, including The Sandwich Man (1983). The major translation of Huang's work into English is The Taste of Apples (Howard Goldblatt trans; New York: Columbia University Press, 2001).
