CEAS Receives Japan Studies Grant from Japan Foundation, New York

The Center for East Asian Studies is pleased and grateful to receive a Japan Studies Grant of $3970.00 from the Japan Foundation, New York, in support of the upcoming February 17 workshop “Between Mission and Empire: Japanese and Korean Christianity in the Colonial Era, 1910-1945.”  Patti Maclachlan was the lead author of the grant application, assisted by Kirsten Cather, Michael Shapiro, and Robert Oppenheim.  Organized by Shapiro, who will also speak at the event, the February 17 workshop will feature presentations in dialogue by scholars Matsutani Motokazu, Emily Anderson, and Albert Park.
