The Department of English and the James A. Michener Center for Writers welcomes Amy Hempel.

The Department of English and the James A. Michener Center for Writers welcomes Amy Hempel.  Amy Hempel is the author of five books of fiction published by Scribner and Knopf.  The Collected Stories (2006) won numberous prizes and accolades, and in 2008 she was the recipient of the REA Award for the Short Story.

She has taught at several institutions including Duke University, Columbia, and Princeton.  She is currently the Director of the Graduate Fiction Program at Brooklyn College.

Amy Hempel will be giving a reading from her latest work.
