John Taggart will read from his new book of poems, "There Are Birds"

On Oct 23rd at 7 pm, John Taggart will read from his new book of poems, "There Are Birds" (Flood Editions, 2008). The event is in the Joynes Reading Room.  Refreshments will be served.

John Taggart is the author of a dozen previous volumes of poetry, including Crosses: Poems 1992-1998 (Stop Press, 2006) and Pastorelles (Flood Editions, 2004). He has also published two books of criticism, Remaining Light: Ant Meditations on a Painting by Edward Hoper (SUNY Press, 1993) and Songs of Degrees: Essays on Contemporary Poetry and Poetics (The University of Alabama Press, 1994). He lives in the Cumberland Valley of south-central Pennsylvania. Now retired, Taggart was a professor of English and director of the Program in Interdisciplinary Arts at Shippensburg University.
