English Department Graduate Student Successes

The department of English congratulates graduate students Connie Steel, Kristine Kotecki, Jonathan Lamb, and Katy Evans on winning several fellowships and prizes.

Connie Steel has won a Social Science Research Council Dissertation Proposal Development Fellow (DPDF). This competitive national program, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will sponsor Connie's archival research regarding human rights at the National Archive of Scotland and the University of Aberdeen. [link]

Jonathan Lamb has been awarded the American Council of Learned Societies Dissertation Completion Fellowship.  This fellowship will fund a year of work and research expenses for Jonathan to work on his dissertation, Shakespeare's Writing Practice: "Literary" Shakespeare and the Work of Form. [link]

Kristine Kotecki has received the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship as well as a scholarship from the American Council of Learned Societies for summer study at the University of Pittsburgh. [link]

Katy Evans has received an American Dissertation Fellowship from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) for 2009-10. American Fellowships support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations from all academic fields and provide a stipend of $20,000. [link]
