Distinguished Teaching Professor of History and scholar of 20th century Germany, Dr. David Crew has published numerous books and articles on welfare in Germany and the Nazi era.  His current research and teaching interests include the history of popular culture and consumerism in 20th-century Germany and Europe, the history and politics of memory, and the visual history of Germany in the twentieth century, with a specific focus upon photographic representations.
