Fri, November 19, 2010 | UT Campus and Wizard Academy

This year's symposium is the first in what may become an annual or bi-annual event co-sponsored by several central Texas universities under the auspices of the Cervantes Society of America, the leading professional scholarly association in the field of Cervantes Studies.

The prestigious list of top scholars in the field participating in our program includes Bruce Burningham (Illinois State University and editor of the journal Cervantes), Joan Cammarata (Manhattan College), Ana Laguna (Rugers), Howard Mancing (Purdue University and president of the Cervantes Society of America), Michael McGrath (Georgia Southern University), Carolyn Nadeau (Illinois Wesleyan University), Charles Presberg (University of Missouri), Eduardo Urbina (Texas A&M), Ryan Schmitz (TCU), Steven Wagschal (Indiana University), Amy Williamsen (University of Arizona), and Matthew Wyszynski (University of Akron). Their papers and roundtable panels will deal with multiple cutting-edge approaches to Cervantes including cognitive studies, technology and literature, gastronomy and material culture, oratory and ethics, and the enduring influence of Cervantes in modern literature and film.
