Irish Dance Célí features traditional Irish social dancing
International Education Week presents "Irish Dance Célí." Learn traditional Irish social dancing from Inis Ealga members and special guest speaker and world champion Irish dancer Eimir Ni Mhaoileidigh. A célí (pronounced KAY-lee) is an Irish social dance party. Couples and groups dance together, similar to square dancing. The dances are upbeat and lively, and the movements and steps (which we will teach at the beginning) can be picked up easily. This culturally rich tradition still continues among young people in Ireland today. Please bring socks or soft-soled dance shoes. Street shoes are not allowed on the dance floor.
Time: Monday, 6-7:30 p.m.
Location: L. Theo Bellmont Hall 502A
