Tracie M. Matysik, IHS Fellow and Associate Professor of History, is the author of Reforming the Moral Subject: Ethics and Sexuality in Central Europe, 1890-1930 (Cornell University Press, 2008) and is currently working on a book manuscript entitled "Spinoza Matters: Pantheism, Materialism, and Alternative Enlightenment Legacies in Nineteenth-Century Europe." Her research interests focus on modern European intellectual history and the evolution of secularism as a social movement.
