Tue, April 16, 2013

The Texas Language Center has announced its Professional Development Award recipients for 2013! These awards are made to instructors of languages other than English at UT who are seeking to develop new materials, courses, or methods for teaching their languages, or who may need to attend a conference or purchase materials in order to improve their teaching.  Awards will be used to supplement instructor salaries, purchase materials, and/or subvent travel to professional conferences. This year’s recipients in the Department of French and Italian are:

  • Dr. Nancy Guilloteau, Language Program Director, Lecturer in French—development of the new course, FR 317C, "Enhancing French Skills"
  • Clare Perry, PhD Candidate in French Studies and Assistant Instructor of French —“Mixed Media First-Year French Cultural Materials”
  • Emilie Destruel, PhD Candidate in French Linguistics and Assistant Instructor of French —“Language in context with French movie trailers”

Look for these and other exciting projects to be profiled in future TLC newsletters and presented in next year’s Language Matters lectures series.

Congratulations, Nancy, Claire, and Emilie!
