Water is one of Brazil’s most coveted natural commodities, essential for human use, but water also serves a critical role in maintaining the ecological integrity of the country’s river systems. This conference provides an overview of past and current water resource issues in Brazil and neighboring countries as viewed from a wide spectrum of disciplines, from history and geography to biology, hydrology, and engineering.
