Senior Lecturer Troy Kimmel, national Councilor in the National Weather Association, along with Dr. Chad Kauffman of the Department of Earth Sciences at California University of Pennsylvania, co-chaired a session on heavy rain and flash flooding during the National Weather Association's 35th annual meetings in Tucson, AZ on Monday,  4 October 2010.  The 2010 meeting emphasized ongoing and emerging interactions between weather and water enterprises. The sessions included presentations and analysis on recent heavy rain events in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia.  Modeling and Analysis approaches were presented including Mesoscale and Synoptic Analysis.
